Companion program options
Tuesday, May 14
- 9:30 – 11:30 am: Learning event: Igniting Change: Wildfire preparedness and community resilience in the Okanagan – from Knox Mountain
- Join us for a hike/drive to the first lookout on Knox Mountain to enjoy sweeping views of the city and down the valley, while observing the impacts of the 2023 wildfires. Hear from City of Kelowna Fire Department, Emergency Support Services and Emergency Operation Centre staff about fire mitigation efforts, support services before, during and after a fire, and how change is in the air.
- Transportation is included. We will shuttle people from the Coast Capri Hotel to Knox Mountain (check out the PDF brochure). You can choose to hike up to the Lower Crown Lookout (via Apex trail) or take the shuttle. The hike is moderate and 35-45 minutes. Additional details will be provided in advance.
- 6:00 – 9:00 pm: Welcome dinner at the Kelowna Yacht Club. Transportation is included.
Wednesday, May 15
- 7:00 – 7:45 am: Pre-breakfast activity: waterfront/ downtown guided walking tour. Transportation is included.
- 6:00 – 10:00 pm: Networking dinner at the Lakehouse. Transportation is included.
Thursday, May 16
- 7:00 – 7:45 am: Pre-breakfast activity: beach yoga. Transportation is included.
- 6:30 pm to late: Inaugural awards and gala dinner. Transportation is included.
