Started in 2004, as an informal network, and officially established in 2008, the Municipal Service Delivery Officials (MSDO) has been an evolving, not-for-profit volunteer-run organization made up of municipalities across Canada.

MSDO brings together senior service delivery professionals for networking, educational and professional development through channels such as an interactive online forum for members, webinars, an annual conference, and provides municipal representation in federal-provincial-territorial service delivery initiatives.

Originally, when MSDO was founded, its membership was focused on call centres and service centralization. As MSDO has matured, our focus has expanded to include digital service delivery and emerging technologies.

To promote municipal service delivery excellence for Canadians by providing members with:

• access to information, resources, best practices and like-minded municipal service professionals;
• a strong municipal voice in broader public service improvement initiatives
• a sustainable association that meets the needs of members.

MSDO Board consists of employees that are elected from our over 50 member municipalities.

They do this work above and beyond their roles at their respective municipalities.

As there are currently no paid employees of the organization, Board members fulfill both governance and operational roles.

Becoming a board member is an excellent way to contribute to the growth and development of municipal service transformation in Canada and for many members is an excellent development opportunity.
